What's next for V?

Although V starts off with an epic beginning, it gives too much away in the first episode. We know the Visitors are responsible for causing the world's turmoil. We know they've been here for a long time and we know they're reptiles. We know they're controlling the message about them and starting youth indoctrination programs. They're also sponsoring graffiti of some sort. We aren't left with any ambiguity. The Visitors have a plan and it's already in motion.

With overtones of the Nazi youth programs and 1984 (what's with the Visitors being on the side of universal healthcare?), we've already decided which side we're on from the very first episode. We're on the side of the humans (and they already revealed that some Visitors are human sympathizers).

So where do we go next? It's difficult to say. We've got intertwining plot points revolving around an F.B.I. agent who has joined up with the resistance, a Visitor who left the human woman he loved to fight the Visitors, a priest who was suspicious of the Visitors' potential to replace Christianity, and a child who's feeling of abandonment and neglect led him to join a Visitors' youth program. I can't help but feel that they squandered a season's worth of surprises right out of the gate.
