Have we seen the last of Nathan?

The drama surrounding Nathan's “death” in last week's Heroes episode will be short lived. I do not believe we have seen the last of Nathan.

At the end of last week's episode, Nathan begs Peter to let him quit fighting Sylar for control of Sylar's body. Peter quite reluctantly relents and lets Nathan “let go,” both of his hand and of his control over Sylar. But as Nathan falls off a tall building, he morphs into Sylar. Sylar then gets up and casually walks away.

The morph during the fall was supposed to be symbolic of Nathan giving in to Sylar. But is Nathan really gone? I think the writers aren't sure, or they are being careful to leave it up the viewer to decide. If you have ever been a fan of a drama before, then you know the golden rule: never fully kill off a character. This is true for all daytime dramas. Characters also continually came back from supposed death in the popular show Alias. Nathan's character could prove useful in the future. He has already saved Angela and Peter once by controlling Sylar. Who else might be saved from Sylar's power lust? I do not think we have seen the last of Nathan.

Considering that 1, Adrian Pasdar (the actor who portrays Nathan)is leaving the show, and 2, Heroes is being canceled; I think it may actually be the last we see of him.

At least in the series proper. Who knows what they'll do in the comics? Or if there's a reunion show somewhere down the line.
