Hope for a New Day
Watching the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama today, I am truly overwhelmed with emotion. How appropriate is it that Obama's inauguration is taking place during the same week we honor Martin Luther king? I believe that Obama will do his best to bring this country back to what it once was and what it should be: a place of hope and prosperity. He might be young and inexperienced, but he has already shown his capability by surrounding himself with the brightest and most knowledgeable advisors available. I hope that years from now my children will be able to tell their grandchildren about the day the greatest president in our history took office. Barack Obama has a great deal to overcome in the upcoming months: a crumbling economy, a war in the Middle East, numerous controversial issues to sort out and a nation terribly divided in so many ways. Yet, I believe he has the ability to unite us and lead us into prosperity. Will we always agree on everything? Of course not, but that is what makes our nation the great place that it is. I am so excited about our future and feel like everyone should feel the same hope that I feel: the hope for a new day.
